| Description du revers | The reverse depicts a colourised effigy of Anubis, the jackal-headed Egyptian deity, rendered in vivid cobalt blue and gold tones and seated in a frontal shrine pose at centre. The background features engraved hieroglyphic cartouches and panels arranged symmetrically, evoking the interior decoration of Tutankhamun's burial shrine. A colourised garland of blue, red, and white beads frames the lower portion of the central design. The legend 1922 ~ TUTANKHAMUN ~ 2022 arcs along the upper periphery, commemorating the centenary of Howard Carter's discovery of the tomb, while the denomination FIFTY PENCE appears in relief along the lower edge. |
