Guernsey has operated as a prolific licensing partner for commemorative 50 pence issues since the 1990s, issuing coins tied to properties ranging from Beatrix Potter characters to classic British television. Thunderbirds — the Gerry Anderson puppet series that ran on ITV from 1965 to 1966 — has been revisited across multiple collector series, with individual coins assigned to specific craft or characters. This is the fifth entry in the current run.
