| Obverse description | Uncrowned right-facing effigy of King Charles III occupies the central field, rendered in high relief with naturalistic detail to the hair and facial features. The portrait is the work of engraver Glyn Davies and represents the first definitive effigy of Charles III used on Guernsey coinage. The circular legend reads CHARLES III • BAILIWICK OF GUERNSEY • around the upper periphery, with the date 2023 positioned in the lower exergual area flanked by two raised dots. The design is contained within the heptagonal coin border, with a polished flat field accentuating the portrait. |

The Wombles, created by Elisabeth Beresford in 1968 after she misheard her daughter pronounce "Wimbledon Common," became a fixture of British children's television in the early 1970s via a BBC stop-motion series narrated by Bernard Cribbins. Orinoco — famously the laziest of the clan — was among the most popular characters. Guernsey has issued character-specific pieces across the set rather than a single omnibus design, making completion of the full series the obvious commercial mechanism here.
