Obverse description Uncrowned right-facing effigy of King Charles III occupies the central field, rendered in high relief with finely detailed facial features and hair, as designed by Martin Jennings. The peripheral legend reads CHARLES III · D · G · REX · F · D · 50 PENCE · 2024, arranged continuously around the heptagonal flan. The engraver's initials MJ appear discreetly in the lower right field beneath the truncation of the portrait. The stark mirrored proof fields contrast sharply with the frosted relief of the royal effigy, giving the obverse a distinctive cameo appearance.

Reverse description The reverse features a vibrant full-colour depiction of The Snowman, the beloved character from Raymond Briggs' illustrated story, standing to the right of a large decorated Christmas tree. The Snowman, rendered in white with a green scarf and hat and an orange carrot nose, reaches upward with one arm toward a yellow star atop the tree, which is adorned with multicoloured baubles in red, orange, pink, and green. Two smaller snow-covered conifers flank the scene in the background, and falling snowflakes are scattered across a pale wintry sky, creating a festive seasonal tableau. The field is entirely occupied by the coloured illustration with no inscriptions or legends on the reverse.
