| Aanvullende informatie |
Jersey has issued commemorative 50 pence pieces under its own authority since decimalisation in 1971, operating independently of the Royal Mint. This piece capitalises on one of the more commercially durable myths in British cultural life — the Loch Ness Monster, a Scottish legend with no formal connection to Jersey whatsoever. The pairing is purely a licensing and collector-market decision, part of a broader trend of Crown Dependencies issuing topical commemoratives well outside their geographic or historical remit.
The selective colour application is a post-strike print process, not an enamel inlay.
