The Manx Rally, held annually on the Isle of Man's public roads, is one of the few tarmac rally events in the British Isles still run on fully closed public highways. The Isle of Man's constitutional status as a Crown Dependency — outside the UK but owing allegiance to the Crown — gives its government the latitude to authorize road closures and commemorative coinage programs that Westminster has no hand in approving.
This piece marks the first such rally issue under Charles III, following a long run of motorsport commemoratives the Manx authorities have issued since the 1970s.
