Additional information

The Manx Grand Prix was established in 1923 as an amateur counterpart to the TT races, run over the same Mountain Course on public roads that close specifically for the event. For many decades it served as the proving ground where riders graduated before earning TT entry — a deliberate gatekeeping structure that shaped the careers of riders across multiple generations of British motorcycle racing.

The "First" designation in the title refers to this being the inaugural commemorative issue under Charles III, not the first running of the event itself, which reached its centenary in 2023.
