| Obverse description | Uncrowned effigy of King Charles III facing left, rendered in high relief after the portrait by sculptor Martin Jennings, his initials 'MJ' appearing in the field below the truncation. The circumferential Latin legend reads 'CHARLES III · D · G · REX · F · D · 50 PENCE · 2024 ·', distributed around the periphery of the equilateral curve heptagonal flan. The denomination '50 PENCE' and date '2024' appear on the right and lower portions of the legend respectively, against a deeply mirrored proof field. |

| Reverse description | Two stylized athletes depicted in dynamic motion, representing both the Olympic and Paralympic Games at the Paris 2024 Summer Games. The Eiffel Tower is shown in the lower portion of the design as an iconic reference to the host city, while a Union Flag is rendered in the background, symbolizing Great Britain's national identity. The design is rendered with colour application and the engraver's initials 'CT' appear in the field. The composition celebrates Team GB's participation in the 2024 Paris Olympic and Paralympic Games. |

Team GB's Paris 2024 campaign marked the fourth consecutive Olympics for which the Royal Mint issued a commemorative 50p series — a program that began with London 2012 and has continued with diminishing novelty but consistent collector demand. The silver proof version of this issue is struck to the Royal Mint's standard proof finish against frosted relief, with mintage figures kept deliberately low to sustain secondary market interest, a commercial strategy the Mint has employed aggressively since privatisation in 2009.
