Reverse description The reverse features a selectively gold-plated standing figure of Saint David, patron saint of Wales, depicted in full episcopal vestments including mitre and cope, holding a processional cross in his right hand and a dove in his left, positioned to the left of the field. To the right, in brilliant silver proof finish, rears the Welsh dragon passant, rendered in fine detail against the mirror field. In the lower right quadrant, daffodils — the national emblem of Wales — are depicted in silver relief. The inscription ST. DAVID OF WALES appears in a rectangular cartouche along the lower edge of the design.
