Reverse description A gold-plated Windsor Grey horse, depicted in left-facing profile, is shown being ridden by a uniformed royal groom in ceremonial livery, also rendered in selective gold plating. Behind the horse and rider, a large carriage wheel is depicted in the silver field, providing a compositional backdrop evoking the Royal Mews. The lower portion of the field is divided by a raised horizontal band bearing the inscription 'WINDSOR GREY HORSE' above and '50p' below, flanked on either side by fleur-de-lis motifs in relief.
