Additional information

The Royal Mews at Buckingham Palace has managed the sovereign's horses and carriages since George III converted the site in the 1760s. Windsor Greys — the pale dappled horses reserved exclusively for the monarch — have drawn state carriages at every coronation since Queen Victoria's reign, including Charles III's procession in May 2023, which was the direct occasion for this issue. Guernsey has no operational mint of its own; coins bearing its name are struck under contract, typically by the Pobjoy Mint or similar private facilities serving Crown Dependencies.
