Beschrijving keerzijde A colorized Hawk T1 jet aircraft of the Royal Air Force Red Arrows aerobatic display team is depicted in dynamic flight across the center of the field, rendered in vivid red, white, and blue enamel with the inscription ROYAL AIR FORCE visible on the fuselage. Beneath the aircraft, an incuse outline representation of Gorey Castle on the Jersey coastline occupies the lower half of the field. A large numeral 60 in outline format dominates the background, commemorating the 60th anniversary of the Red Arrows. The legend FIFTY PENCE arcs along the upper border, with RED ARROWS and ROYAL AIR FORCE appearing as colored inscriptions in the upper central field.

Aanvullende informatie

Jersey's 50 pence program has long used the heptagonal format as a vehicle for highly specific local subjects, and the Red Arrows' connection to the island is grounded in real operational history — the team has performed over Gorey during the annual Jersey International Air Display, one of the longest-running coastal air shows in Europe. The colored cloisonné-style finish on circulating-composition coinage became commercially viable for Jersey issues only in the last decade, driven largely by collector demand rather than any monetary need.
