The Red Arrows display team, formally the Royal Air Force Aerobatic Team, has been performing since 1965 and is frequently deployed for events of national and royal significance — their appearance over Belfast City Hall carries particular weight given Northern Ireland's historically complicated relationship with British ceremonial culture.
