| 背面描述 | Full-color depiction of Professor Yaffle, the carved wooden woodpecker bookend character from the BBC children's television series Bagpuss, shown seated upright before a red wooden bookend bracket. The character is rendered in polychrome enamel-style color, featuring blue spectacles, a yellow and brown body, and an orange beak. Surrounding the central figure are six small colored vignettes of animated objects from the Bagpuss universe, including teapots and jugs. The denomination 50p appears in the lower left field, and the quotation FIDDLE STICKS & FLAP DOODLE is inscribed in large serif lettering to the right of the central motif. |

Professor Yaffle, the pedantic wooden woodpecker from Oliver Postgate and Peter Firmin's Bagpuss, appeared in only thirteen episodes broadcast by the BBC in 1974 — yet the series was voted the most popular children's programme in a BBC poll nearly two decades after it last aired. Guernsey has issued a run of Bagpuss coins timed to the show's fiftieth anniversary.
Postgate produced the entire series from a barn in Kent, filming on 16mm stock with a budget that would barely cover a single day of modern animation.
