Beschrijving voorzijde Uncrowned right-facing effigy of King Charles III occupies the central field, rendered in high relief with fine detail to the hair and facial features. The legend KING CHARLES III · ISLE OF MAN arcs along the upper periphery, while the date 2024 appears in the lower exergual area. Two small raised dots flank the date at the base of the design. The portrait, engraved by David Lawrence, is set within the distinctive equilateral curve heptagonal flan characteristic of Isle of Man 50 pence coinage.

Aanvullende informatie

The Isle of Man has long exploited a legal quirk in its status as a Crown dependency — outside the UK but under the Crown — to issue commemorative coinage largely free from the design restrictions that bind the Royal Mint. The Peter Pan connection is genuine: J.M. Barrie assigned the copyright of the story to Great Ormond Street Hospital in 1929, a gift that has funded pediatric care for nearly a century.

The coloring is applied post-strike, a process that disqualifies these pieces from most serious circulation studies but keeps them firmly in the gift and collector market the Pobjoy Mint built its Isle of Man business on.
