Katherine of Aragon's connection to Guernsey is essentially nonexistent — this is a commemorative issue capitalizing on broader Tudor anniversary interest rather than any Channel Island historical tie. The selective colour printing process, applied over standard copper-nickel blanks at the Royal Mint or a licensed facility, has become a reliable revenue mechanism for Crown Dependencies since the early 2000s, producing coins that circulate in name only.
