Obverse description Uncrowned right-facing effigy of King Charles III, rendered in high relief with naturalistically detailed hair, after the portrait by Glyn Davies. The legend KING CHARLES III · ISLE OF MAN arcs around the upper periphery of the heptagonal flan, while the date 2023 appears centrally at the base, flanked by two raised dots. The designer's initials GD appear discreetly below the truncation of the portrait. The field is polished, presenting a clean, uncluttered composition characteristic of modern British Commonwealth coinage.

Reverse description Central design features a detailed full-body reconstruction of a Cetiosaurus sauropod dinosaur facing left, depicted in profile traversing a Jurassic landscape, with stylised prehistoric vegetation and a sweeping hillside silhouette in the background. Superimposed over the hindquarters of the animal is a partial skeletal rendering, ingeniously merging the living creature with its fossil record. The series title JURASSIC BRITAIN arcs along the upper legend, while the denomination 50P appears to the lower left of the central motif. Below the ground line, in three lines, the inscriptions CETIOSAURUS, CHIPPING NORTON, and 1841 record the species name, the location of its discovery, and the year of its scientific description.
