| Obverse description | Uncrowned right-facing effigy of King Charles III occupies the central field, rendered in high relief with fine detailing of the facial features and hair. A small crowned royal cypher appears to the right of the portrait in the lower field. The peripheral legend, divided by raised dots, reads CHARLES III · KING OF GIBRALTAR · FIFTY PENCE · around the upper arc, with the date 2023 positioned at the base. The design is by Glyn Davies and conforms to the standard first coinage portrait of Charles III. The heptagonal flan frame completes the composition. |
