Jersey's D-Day commemorative series has been a recurring revenue exercise for the island's treasury, timed reliably to milestone anniversaries. The 80th anniversary in 2024 prompted another round of issues, of which this is one. Jersey had no military role in the Normandy landings — the island was under German occupation from 1940 until May 1945 — which gives these pieces an odd commemorative remove from the event they mark.
