The portrait is rendered in high relief with fine detail to the hair and facial features. The circumferential legend reads CHARLES III • BAILIWICK OF GUERNSEY •, with the date 2023 positioned in the lower field, all in Latin script.

Reverse description Detailed depiction of the Sword of Offering, one of the historic regalia used during the Coronation of King Charles III, shown diagonally across the upper field with its ornate scabbard and hilt rendered in fine relief against a background of radiating lines and decorative geometric motifs. The lower portion of the field bears the legend THE SWORD OF OFFERING flanked by fleur-de-lis ornaments, with the denomination 50p inscribed below, also accompanied by fleur-de-lis devices. The overall design is by engraver Quentin Peacock.
