| Reverse description | A detailed architectural view of the Castle of Mey, the Scottish residence associated with the late Queen Elizabeth The Queen Mother and subsequently King Charles III, is depicted in the central field. The façade of the castle is rendered in fine relief with considerable architectural precision, set against an ornate background of stylised foliate and floral scrollwork filling the upper field. A small heraldic emblem appears at the top centre above the castle. Five fleur-de-lis ornaments are arranged symmetrically in the lower field, flanking the two-line inscription CASTLE OF MEY. The denomination 50p appears below, also flanked by fleur-de-lis devices. |
