| Aanvullende informatie |
Jersey has issued commemorative 50 pence pieces marking the Battle of Britain before, but this 2025 Charles III issue is part of a broader multi-coin program segmenting the campaign by aircraft type. The Hawker Hurricane, often overshadowed by the Spitfire in popular memory, was actually responsible for the majority of Luftwaffe kills during the battle — approximately 55 percent by most tallies — owing to its numerical superiority and effectiveness against the German bomber formations.
