Jersey's 2023 commemorative program for the 70th anniversary of the 1953 Coronation produced multiple coin types, of which this is the fourth in the coach subseries. The Gold State Coach used in Elizabeth II's Coronation procession was built in 1762 for George III and has appeared in every Coronation since — making it one of the few objects present at both the 1953 ceremony and the 2023 Coronation of Charles III, where it was again deployed despite its notoriously punishing ride.
