Jersey's 2023 commemorative program marking the 70th anniversary of Elizabeth II's 1953 coronation produced several variants, of which this is the second coach-themed issue. The Gold State Coach used in that coronation had not carried a reigning monarch since George VI's coronation in 1937, and its 1953 appearance marked the first time it had been pulled in full ceremonial harness since before the war.
