| Obverse description | Central field dominated by the elaborate tughra (imperial monogram) of Sultan Mahmud II, rendered in the traditional Ottoman calligraphic style with characteristic looped and extended strokes. An ornamental foliate or floral device appears to the right of the tughra. The design is contained within a beaded inner border, surrounded by a plain outer rim with a dentilated decorative band, typical of early 19th-century Ottoman provincial coinage. |
