Obverse description The Ashoka Lion Capital, the national emblem of India, is depicted centrally in high relief, showing three lions atop an abacus decorated with a Dharma Chakra (wheel) flanked by a bull and a horse. Immediately below the capital, the motto 'सत्यमेव जयते' (Satyameva Jayate) is inscribed in Devanagari script. The denomination '50' appears in large numerals at the bottom of the field, flanked by the legend 'भारत' in Devanagari to the left and 'INDIA' in Latin script to the right along the upper periphery, with '50 PAISE' completing the inscription. The entire design is framed by a fine inner beaded border.
