| Aanvullende informatie |
Tribhuvana Bir Bikram's reign saw Nepal emerge from the Rana oligarchy's century-long stranglehold following his 1951 return from exile in India, where he had sought refuge at the Indian embassy in Kathmandu. This coinage was struck during the constitutional transition period before his death in March 1955, when real administrative power was still being negotiated between the palace and reformist factions. KM#740 represents one of the last issues bearing his effigy before his son Mahendra assumed the throne and began consolidating royal authority in an entirely different direction.
