Obverse description Central field features an elaborate stepped square yantra-like design composed of interlocking rectangular compartments, with a raised trident (trishul) enclosed within a small central circle at the heart of the composition. Devanagari inscriptions reading the royal titulature of King Mahendra Bir Bikram Shah Dev are distributed across the compartments of the square design. Decorative elements including traditional Nepalese symbolic motifs — a conch shell, flame, crescent, hand gesture, and other auspicious emblems — occupy the outer corners and flanking areas around the central square. The Bikram Sambat date appears in Devanagari numerals at the base of the design. The outer border consists of a ring of raised beads.
