| Obverse description | Central field features a decorative square cartouche divided into six panels bearing the royal name and titles of King Birendra Bir Bikram Shah Dev in Devanagari script, with a small trident symbol at the centre intersection of the panels. The cartouche is surmounted by an ornamental arch bearing the honorific legend, and the regnal year in Vikram Samvat numerals appears at the base. The entire design is enclosed within a beaded border. |

| Reverse description | Central motif consists of an upright kukri dagger flanked symmetrically by two flowering garland sprays descending from above, all contained within a circular inner legend band. The denomination in Devanagari script and the country name Nepal appear within the central circle. An outer decorative border of scalloped or lotus-petal form frames the entire composition, with the religious invocations to Gorakhnath and Bhawani rendered in Devanagari script around the inner ring. |
