Aversbeschreibung The central device features the crown of Christian V (1646–1699), rendered in high relief with elaborate arched bands, fleur-de-lis terminals, and a jewelled circlet, surmounted by a cross pattée atop an orb. The date 1987 is disposed in the upper field, bisected by the crown, with '19' to the left and '87' to the right. The legend DANMARK curves along the lower rim in large incuse letters, partially overlaid by the base of the crown. The composition and bold graphic design reflect the modernist aesthetic of Danish coinage reforms of the era. The whole is contained within a plain raised border.

Zusätzliche Informationen

Pattern coinage from the Royal Danish Mint rarely surfaces in dealer inventories, and this bronze 50 øre trial from 1987 is among the more elusive of the Margrethe II series. The piece was produced as part of the mint's internal evaluation process ahead of a planned compositional or design revision — standard Danish practice before any confirmed change to circulating coinage, but one that generates extremely limited struck numbers, most retained by the mint or distributed through official channels to a handful of collectors and institutions.

The Sieges reference GP 38 places it firmly within the documented pattern sequence. KM#Pr60 confirms Krause recognition, though catalog valuations for this type have historically lagged behind actual auction results.
