| 备注 |
Peru's transition to the nuevo sol in 1991 was a direct response to the catastrophic hyperinflation that had obliterated the inti — by mid-1990, annual inflation had exceeded 7,000%. The nuevo sol was introduced at a rate of one million intis, effectively erasing six zeroes from the monetary system in a single reform decree.
De La Rue's involvement was a deliberate signal of institutional credibility at a moment when public trust in Peruvian currency was essentially zero. The optically variable ink on this denomination was among the more advanced anti-counterfeiting measures deployed in Latin America at the time of issue.
