| Obverse description | The Mexican national coat of arms occupies the centre of the silver inner disc, depicting a Mexican golden eagle perched on a prickly pear cactus devouring a serpent, encircled by an olive and oak wreath in the lower portion. The legend ESTADOS UNIDOS MEXICANOS arcs along the upper periphery of the brass outer ring in raised Latin characters. The design follows the standard national emblem convention used on Mexican coinage of the period. |
