Obverse description Central device depicting the Coat of Arms of the Republic of Cyprus: a shield bearing a dove with an olive branch in flight, the founding year 1960 inscribed in the lower portion of the shield, all flanked by two olive branches forming a wreath. The date of issue appears above the shield within the wreath. The bilingual circular legend reads in Greek 'ΚΥΠΡΙΑΚΗ ΔΗΜΟΚΡΑΤΙΑ' and in Turkish 'KIBRIS CUMHURİYETİ', separated by raised dots, running around the periphery of the coin within a beaded border.
