Opmerkingen

Pick 101 is the workhorse note of Finland's 1963 series, printed domestically by the Finnish Security Printing House rather than farmed out to the foreign contractors — De La Rue, Bradbury Wilkinson — that had handled earlier Finnish issues. The replacement note suffix asterisk system used here follows Scandinavian practice of the period, marking substitutes inserted during sheet inspection to replace defective notes before numbering runs were completed.

Replacement asterisk examples from this series turn up far less frequently than regular serials, though they were never formally tracked by the Bank of Finland in published figures.
