Issued in the immediate aftermath of Diana's death in August 1997, this coin belongs to the wave of memorial issues that flooded global markets through 1997–1998, many produced by small or recovering nations whose mints had little connection to Diana herself. Bosnia and Herzegovina was still operating under the Dayton Agreement framework, its central bank only established in 1997 — making this among the earliest sovereign issues the institution produced.
