Obverse description Yellow-green guilloche underprint frames a central diamond-shaped vignette in dark blue-green enclosing "Der Eiserne Reinoldus," Dortmund's armored patron saint rendered in teal as a standing figure flanked by two kneeling attendants before an architectural backdrop. The denomination numeral "50" appears in large teal digits within dark circular cartouches at left and right, while the value "Fünfzig Mark" is set in bold blackletter script across the upper register. Below the central vignette, a dark banner carries the date "Dortmund am 10. Oktober 1922," with two manuscript signatures and an official eagle seal of the Magistrat der Stadt Dortmund beneath.

Reverse description A yellow-green wave-pattern underprint is enclosed within interlacing dark ribbon borders carrying a continuous poetic inscription in blackletter script. The central rectangular vignette presents a Landwehr soldier of the Wars of Liberation era standing before a large oak tree and a village church spire, captioned "LANDWEHRMANN" at lower right, with a scroll banner inscribed "1813 / Blücher: Meine Westfalen-Kerls wie Eisen!" The denomination "50" appears in stylized teal roundels incorporating decorative motifs at left and right, with the printer's imprint of West-Werbe-Dienst Dortmund at upper center.
