Issued in the same year Azerbaijan launched the 44-Day War that retook much of the Karabakh region from Armenian forces, this coin's timing is pointed. The offensive, which ran from late September to early November 2020, ended with a Russian-brokered ceasefire and the return of territories held since the early 1990s conflict.
