The 1992–1993 series marked a significant consolidation of Lesotho's currency program under the Multilateral Monetary Area arrangements, which formally tied the Maloti to the South African Rand at par — a peg that has held without interruption. De La Rue's involvement goes back to the kingdom's earliest independent issues; this note is part of a long and relatively quiet printing relationship between the two.
