Beschrijving voorzijde	The obverse is printed in red and brown tones on a cream-colored cotton paper ground, with an ornate guilloche border of arabesque rosettes framing the entire face. The central field carries Arabic text inscriptions including the bank name بنك سوريا والبنان الكبير, city of issue بيروت, and date, flanked by two large denomination numerals ٥٠ in red at lower left and lower right. The overprint SYRIE 1939 appears in bold serif lettering across the centre, with two manuscript signatures below the Arabic text at left.

Beschrijving keerzijde	The reverse is rendered in olive-green and terracotta tones, dominated by a large central vignette of the Dome of the Rock in Jerusalem viewed through a Moorish arched gateway, with ornamental gardens and a fountain in the foreground. The bank name BANQUE DE SYRIE ET DU GRAND-LIBAN runs across the upper margin in serif capitals, with the denomination CINQUANTE LIVRES inscribed in red below it at centre. Corner numerals 50 appear in each of the four corners within an intricate geometric guilloche border of Islamic-style interlace.
