Reverse description The reverse is centred on an intaglio vignette of the Lupa Capitolina, the celebrated bronze sculpture of the she-wolf suckling the twins Romulus and Remus, symbol of the founding legend of Rome. The image is set within a fine engraved frame, flanked by the repeated denomination inscription. A guilloche border frames the entire composition.
