A balance scale is depicted in stylised form, with its beam and suspended pans rendered geometrically; a rounded form interpreted as a shield or orb rests at the centre between the two pans. Two rectangular pillar-like elements flank the composition on either side, contributing to the architectural quality of the design. The denomination L 50 appears in the lower field beneath the composition, and the engraver's signature MOLTENI is visible in the lower right. The overall artistic treatment is characteristic of the contemporary Italian commemorative coinage style of the 1970s. |
