Obverse description At upper left, the Royal arms of Savoy — a crowned shield charged with a plain cross and supported by a lion — are rendered in intaglio, accompanied by a winged putto bearing a banner inscribed with the note's title. The denomination 'Lire Cinquanta' and issue date 'Torino il 1º Aprile 1796' are set in letterpress script at centre, with a decorative oval vignette positioned to the right, while the word 'CINQUANTA' appears within an ornamental letterpress band along the upper border. Four handwritten official signatures with their respective titles appear along the lower centre.
