| Obverse description | Within a wreath of rose branches adorned with blooms and buds, tied at the base with a ribbon bow, the large numeral '50' occupies the central field with the denomination 'ЛЕВА' below it and the date '1994' at the bottom. The legend 'РЕПУБЛИКА БЪЛГАРИЯ' (Republic of Bulgaria) arcs along the upper rim in Cyrillic script. The design presents a stark contrasting relief against a darkened field, giving the coin a proof-like appearance. |

| Additional information |
Bulgarian organized gymnastics traces to the founding of the first chitalishte reading-room societies in the 1860s, where physical training programs were formalized alongside cultural education as part of the national revival movement under Ottoman rule. The centennial this coin marks counts from the establishment of the Bulgarian Gymnastic Union in 1894, seven years after the Principality of Bulgaria had already gained autonomy.
KM#213 was struck in a limited commemorative run with no circulation mandate.
