正面描述	The obverse is dominated by the state coat of arms of the People's Republic of Bulgaria at centre, rendered within an elaborate guilloche frame with foliate scrollwork at the corners. The denomination "50" appears in the upper left and lower right corners, with the Cyrillic legend НАРОДНА РЕПУБЛИКА БЪЛГАРИЯ arching across the top. A warning inscription runs along the lower margin, and the date 1989 is printed to the left of the denomination numeral at lower right.
