Obverse description The obverse of this holed aluminium trial piece features the Greek royal coat of arms to the right of the central circular perforation: a quartered shield bearing the Greek cross, surmounted by a royal crown and flanked by mantling. The three-line legend ΒΑΣΙΛΕΙΟΝ / ΤΗΣ / ΕΛΛΑΔΟΣ (Kingdom of Greece) is inscribed in bold Greek capitals across the upper and central field to the left of the hole, with the date 1921 positioned in the lower field beneath the perforation. The design is cleanly struck, with the inscriptions and armorial device rendered in a plain, utilitarian style appropriate to a pattern piece intended for official evaluation.
