| Obverse description | Bare-headed right-facing effigy of Prince George of Greece, High Commissioner of Crete, rendered in high relief with fine portrait detail engraved by Alfred Borrel. The truncation of the bust is positioned at the lower centre of the field, with the engraver's initials 'A.B.' visible just below. A circular Greek legend surrounds the portrait along the inner border, reading continuously from the lower left. The date '1901' appears in the lower exergual area, flanked by decorative stops. The entire design is contained within a finely beaded border. |
