Obverse description Intaglio portrait of Juan Manuel Gálvez D., founder of the national banking system, occupies the right half of the note against a multicolour guilloche underprint, with a vignette of the BANADESA building at far right. At centre, a colour-shifting optically variable numeral «50» is set within a rectangular frame, accompanied by a ghost watermark image of a pre-Columbian sculptural head in teal tones. Three facsimile signatures appear below the date, with the issuer's name in bold letterpress across the top and the denomination in large letters along the lower border.

Reverse description The reverse is centred on an intaglio vignette of the main headquarters building of the Banco Central de Honduras, a modernist multi-storey structure flanked by palm trees, rendered in blue-grey against a light multicolour guilloche background of yellow, orange and teal diagonal bands. To the right, a colourful pre-Columbian ceramic motif appears alongside an optically variable rectangular security device bearing the numeral «50». The denomination and issuer's name are inscribed in bold letterpress at lower left, with a large numeral «50» in colour-shifting ink at lower right.
