| 正面描述 | The Moldovan state coat of arms is depicted centrally in the field, featuring an eagle displayed holding an olive branch in its dexter talon and a sceptre in its sinister talon, with a cross in its beak; the escutcheon on the eagle's breast bears the traditional Moldovan charges of an aurochs head, star, crescent, and rose. The circular legend reads 'REPUBLICA MOLDOVA' along the left and right periphery, with the date '2000' at the top between two pellets, and the denomination '50 LEI' prominently displayed in two lines at the bottom of the field. |

Issued to mark the 600th anniversary of Vărzărești Monastery, one of Moldova's oldest Orthodox monastic sites, whose founding tradition is tied to the early Moldavian principality under Mircea cel Bătrân's contemporary rulers. The National Bank of Moldova began its commemorative silver program in the mid-1990s as the newly independent state worked to establish cultural identity through numismatic means — these early issues were struck in modest quantities and saw little secondary market attention at the time of release.
KM#95 is among the harder-to-source pieces from this run, with documentation on exact mintage figures remaining inconsistent across major references.
