| 背面描述 | The reverse depicts a raised relief map of Moldova set against a deeply mirrored proof field, overlaid with the triangulation network of the Struve Geodetic Arc as surveyed across the country's territory. Dashed arcs and radiating lines indicate parallels and geodetic survey lines, with latitude markers '46°', '47°', and '48°' inscribed along a vertical scale to the left of the map. The name 'RUDI' — denoting the Moldovan station point of the arc — appears in italic lettering above the map. The curved legend 'ARCUL GEODEZIC STRUVE' arcs prominently along the upper periphery of the coin. |

The Struve Geodesic Arc was a chain of survey triangulations stretching from Hammerfest in Norway to the Black Sea, conducted between 1816 and 1855 under the direction of Friedrich Georg Wilhelm von Struve to establish the precise shape and size of the Earth. Moldova's section passes through what was then the Russian Empire, and the arc's original survey points — stone markers, drilled rock outcroppings, and iron crosses — were inscribed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 2005, which prompted several of the ten participating nations to issue commemorative coins in the years following.
