Moldova's inclusion of freestyle wrestling on a commemorative issue is less arbitrary than it might appear — the sport has deep roots in the region, and Moldovan wrestlers have been among Eastern Europe's more consistent medal earners at international competition since independence. The National Bank has issued a number of sports-themed silvers in recent years, most tied to Olympic cycles.
KM# 421 is a recent addition with no significant die variety or minting anomaly on record.
